FrameDummy is a funny free app that will let you add a Windows-like frame to any image, message, or any section of your screen to give it an authentic Windows look-and-feel. The frame is fully customizable, and you can resize it either manually or automatically, letting FrameDummy to adjust its size to that of the selected image. Additionally, the program offers specific settings to design your “prank windows”.

This extremely easy-to-use free app simply adds a fake window frame to any image file or any section of your screen to make them look real Windows apps. Once launched, the program will open a transparent fake window to which you can add an existing image file or that you can simply move around your desktop and frame anything you want. You can easily resize it to fit that area of your screen you wish to capture, and use this simple utility for almost anything you can think of – to frame your favorite pictures in a Windows-like style or to play a prank to a friend.

The program comes with specific settings for this purpose. Thus, you can link this fake window to a specific executable or URL, so that, when clicked, it will open the program or web page of your choice. To make it more mysterious and harder to get rid of, you can block the settings that usually appear when right-clicking on it or when using Ctrl+S, and even prevent it from being closed.

The fake window is fully customizable in terms not only of size, but also of appearance. You can decide which buttons appear on the top-right corner of the frame, add a title and an icon to it, change its level of transparency, etc. FrameDummy is simple yet highly effective – nobody will notice the difference between a standard Windows desktop frame and the ones created using this fun tool.
